Process for Root on Nubia REDMAGIC Pro 9
What would the process be for rooting Red Magic 9 Pro?
Would it be as simple as:
-Downloading the ROM/Update (not seeing it here yet: https://help.redmagic.gg/hc/en-us/sections/360005986031-Global-ROMs-and-Updates)
-Enable USB Debugging/OEM Unlocking in Dev Options
-Perform OEM Unlock (fastboot flashing unlock/unlock_critical/etc...)
-Get Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro payload.bin/init_boot.img ... theoretically from the links above or possibly from an update downloaded to the phone (can't find the location for this so far after recieving one OTA update so far)
-Extract that w. Fastboot Enhance perhaps ...
-After extracting init_boot.img - download/install Magisk, and patch init_boot.img
-Boot to fastboot and flash init_boot.img
Convert Global ROM Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro
- Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘About phone’ and check the ‘Build number’ >> Click 8 time to “Build number”
- Download the software build for Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro depending on your location here: Download
- Conect your phone into your computer and copy the NX769J/GEN_EEA_NX769JV1BV1.0.0B08MR1_SD_WO_ERA.zip to your phone’s root storage folder (this is the main folder once your device is connected to the computer). If you’re using a Mac, you can install Android File Transfer for this operation.
- After the .zip file is copied to your phone’s root folder, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘System update’, tap the ‘Settings icon’ (the three dots) in the top right corner, choose ‘Local update’, find the .zip file and tap on ‘Install now’ button to confirm.
- After the Red Magic 9 Pro boots, the software will be usable. However, should any issues occur, we recommend doing a full wipe of the device either by the reset option in settings or via recovery (the best option). To do a full wipe, please follow these additional steps:
- Once the Red Magic 9 Pro has booted after the initial software update, turn the device off, and then hold down both the volume up button and the power button. This will bring you to recovery mode.
- Choose your preferred language with the volume keys and select with the power key.
- Go to ‘Wipe data’, and select ‘Wipe user data.
- The phone will reboot and you will need to set up with your Google account info.
